TRACK: Sandusky faces Perkins on Senior Night

SANDUSKY — Sandusky celebrated Senior Night on Tuesday against crosstown rival Perkins. For the Blue Streaks, Maekayla Rameau, Ruby Capizzi and Taliyah Farris each won two events. Rameau took the 100 meters in 12.43 seconds while adding a win in the long jump with a mark of 17 feet, 1 inch. Capizzi swept the distance races, taking the 1600 in 6:07.21 and the 3200 in 14:07. Farris took home both hurdle wins, winning the 100 in 16.13 and the 300 in 47.14. On the boys side, Perkins' Dixon Mateusz won the 200 in 24.64 while finishing second to Sandusky's Dallas Harris in the 100. Harris won the event in 11.50 while Mateusz crossed the line in 11.88. Sandusky's Lavelle Bell won the 110 hurdles in 16.69 and was second in 43.63 in the 300 hurdles. Teammate Dre' Campbell won the 300 hurdles in 41.82. Campbell added a second in the long jump with a 20-9. Sandusky's Azoriyon Bonner won with a mark of 21-5. Brooke Brown won the 100 for Bellevue in a time of 13.67 before finishing second in 27.72 to teammate Amerie Wagner in the 200. Wagner was victorious in a time of 26.54. Lillian Begley took a win in the 3200 for Bellevue in 14:37.34 while Hallie McCarthy crossed the line first in the 300 hurdles in 48.35. Bellevue's 4x100 relay team won in 50.87 while the 4x400 team won in 4:31.39. For the boys, the Redmen had three winners. Evan Bova took the 400 in 54.70 while the 4x800 relay won in 9:20.47. Caden Cramer had a top toss of 138-4 to win the discus. Cramer was second in the shot put with a throw of 40-7.25, finishing behind TC's Ethan Reynolds who won with a throw of 49-11.5. Huron hosts Harding HURON — The Tigers welcomed in a tough Presidents team in non-league action. Landon Enderle swept the throwing events for Huron, taking the discus with a 112-5 and the shot with a 39-8.5. Peter Cencer won the 110 hurdles in 19.03 and was second to teammate Jason Nims in the 800 (2:08.40). The Tigers won a pair of relays, taking the 4x100 in 47.54 and the 4x400 in 4:10.11. Also for Huron, Jackson McNulty won the high jump with a mark of 5-9 while Tommie McDonald took the long jump with an 18-4. For the girls, Ava Trevino won the 100 in 13.64 while Liz Heidl won the 800 in 2:36.54. The Huron girls won the same relays, taking the 4x100 in 59.82 and the 4x400 in 5:14. Mya Smith won the high jump with a 5-1, Kendal Towns topped the field in the pole vault with a 8-0 and Molly Watson was victorious in the discus with a throw of 101-1. Joslyn Dete added a win in the 100 hurdles for Huron, crossing the line in 18.00. Woodmore quad meet ELMORE — St. Mary Central Catholic competed at the Woodmore quad meet along with the host Wildcats, Gibsonburg and Tiffin Calvert. Nicolette Hile won two events and finished second in another for the Panthers. She took the 400 in 1:06.5 and the 800 in 2:46. Gabe Burch won the shot with a throw of 46-11.50 for SMCC. Eli Etchill tallied a pair of seconds for the Panthers, finishing runner-up in the 1600 in 4:58 and the 3200 in 10:54. Ben Jones added a second in the 800 for SMCC in a time of 2:16. The Panthers' 4x800 relay team of Jackson Grimm, Josh Will, Etchill and Jones were second in 9:19.6.
