PERKINS TWP. — Payton Hicks homered and drove in two runs to lead the Bellevue softball team to a 4-2 Sandusky Bay Conference Lake Division win over Perkins on Friday. The Lady Red (5-13, 2-6 SBC Lake) led 2-1 after five innings before Hicks' poke increased the lead. Later in the inning, Ryleigh Knutti singled to score Ariana Holzhauer. Mallory Hay picked up the win in the circle for Bellevue. She struck out 11, giving up just three hits. For the second night in a row, Kennedi Long doubled twice for Clyde (17-5, 8-0 SBC Lake). She drove in three runs while Ella Howey lined a single and double and scored twice. Ariah Farrar and Teaghan Smith each singled and had two RBI for the Fliers. Jeffrey scored twice and Ember Andres roped a triple. Sandusky fell to 8-7, 3-5. The game was tied at 5 after five innings, but Sandusky added a run in the sixth and finished off the win with four runs in the seventh. Rocco D'Amico doubled twice and scored twice for Sandusky (11-9, 1-6 SBC Lake) while Dennarius Walk (double) and Dante Shipp each tallied three runs scored and two hits. Dylan Crawford singled, doubled and drove in a run for the Blue Streaks while Keelan Lockhart had two hits. Deyker Inciarte added a double and RBI. Walk picked up the win on the mound. He went all seven innings, allowing two earned runs. He struck out three. Kam Shortridge registered three singles and two runs for the Fliers (6-11, 2-5). Brayden Olson doubled and had two RBI.
