PORT CLINTON — An Elmore man was sentenced on Monday after previously pleading guilty on Feb. 7 to possessing child pornography. Allen M. Grover, 34, 300 block Clinton St., was convicted on two counts of illegal use of a minor or impaired person in nudity-oriented material or performance, each a second-degree felony. In exchange for his plea, five additional counts of illegal use of a minor or impaired person in nudity-oriented material or performance, all second-degree felonies, were dismissed. Ottawa County Common Pleas Court Judge Bruce Winters sentenced Grover to serve 12 to 15 years in prison. Grover received a credit of 642 days served in jail, according to court records. Under the terms of his sentencing, Grover is classified as a Tier 2 sex offender, which means that he must verify home and work addresses with the sheriff every six months for 25 years. He will additionally be placed on a mandatory term of five years post-release control, according to court records. Grover was indicted in July 2023 by an Ottawa County grand jury. According to his indictment, the crimes occurred between June 2022 and November 2022. Grover reportedly created, directed, produced or transferred material that depicted a child "in a state of nudity."
