VANGUARD-SENTINEL CAREER AND TECHNOLOGY CENTER • Vanguard-Sentinel Career and Technology Centers inducted students to its National Technical Honor Society. EDISON • Edison Schools thanked Terry Taylor, Adam Brown and Nick Costello for donating their time and effort to install a new flag pole. MARY • Sandusky ex officio mayor Dick Brady stopped by Sandusky Central Catholic School. Brady is David Mack's grandfather. He stopped to talk to Mack and his preschool classmates as a community leader. PORT CLINTON • Bataan Elementary School is hosting another Bike and Roll to School Day. Primary and intermediate students are encouraged to ride their bikes to school. There will be several starting locations: West End Community Park; the corner of Fifth and Madison streets/4th Street block; Taft Hill/Park; and students are encouraged to join the bike bus as it passes their homes. The distinct website offers a map of the event. Students with training wheels will meet at Taft Hill with a required adult. The district is in search of volunteers. Applications and background checks are available at the board of education's office for $10. Lisa Schlumbohm, a parent volunteer, will assist with the event planning. The Ohio State University Extension Office will provide helmets on a first-come, first-served basis. The Ottawa County Health Department will also volunteer for the event. • Port Clinton High School highlighted Morgan Delhees and Briar Rohrer for their high school achievements. Delhees is a member of the National Honor Society and is a freshman mentor. She is a four-year letter winner and the senior captain of the girls soccer team. Delhees earned the title of BCSN Pancake Player of the Game during the sectional final match and was recognized as a second-team All-SBC and a first- team all-district player in soccer. She is part of both the 2023 and 2024 All-Ohio academic teams. Her plans after high school are to continue at Bowling Green State University and study psychology to become an occupational therapist. Rohrer is a four-year member and was captain of the football team during his junior and senior years. He earned the titles of All-Ohio honors in football as an honorable mention for 2024 and was named to the first-team All-SBC for both offense and defense as well as the first-team all-district defense. He also serves as the wrestling captain and was a member of the historic SBC championship team, a district qualifier and was a champion at the Margaretta Stockmaster Wrestling Tournament. Rohrer is also a member of the track team. At the high school, he was a member of the Distributor Education Clubs of America and Skilled Trades Academy. After graduation, he plans to enter into a trade. CLYDE-GREEN SPRINGS • McPherson Middle School recognized its students of the month: — 6th grade, Paisley Todd and Matthew Sauro — 7th grade, Trenten Elfring and Ariya Wurzel — 8th grade, Gavin Brandon and Madi Brooks — Exploratory students, Jacob Maxey and Ariana Ferrari — Club members, Noah Craig from the American Sign Language Club and Tayah Bumb from the Writing Club — March Athletes of the Week, all for track, Trevor Oberdorf, Stone Meggitt, Julia Norris and Ella Young SANDUSKY • Kelsey Simons' class combined art and science. Students made fluffy paint and had free sensory exploration time by creating paintings.
