Man indicted for rape

SANDUSKY — A Sandusky man is facing rape charges after an alleged sexual assault that occurred in August. Brian M. Feltner, 40, 1300 block Putnam St., is facing two counts of rape, both first-degree felonies; two counts of gross sexual imposition, both fourth-degree felonies; and one third-degree felony count of tampering with evidence. The alleged assaults took place in late August. The reported victim went to police on Aug. 27. Since that time, detectives have been investigating the allegations, according to Sandusky police Chief Jared Oliver. "Our detectives obtained items of evidentiary value including biological evidence," Oliver said. Some of that evidence includes a sexual assault nurse examiner, or SANE, kit. Feltner was indicted in Erie County Common Pleas Court at a grand jury session in late March. He was arrested on March 29 and released on a $50,000 bond. Feltner had an arraignment in common pleas court on March 31 in which he pleaded not guilty. He has a pre-trial scheduled for 10:15 a.m. on April 21.
