Partnership serves with Second Harvest

LORAIN — This past week, leadership members of the Greater Sandusky Partnership spent some time with Second Harvest Food Bank of North Central Ohio at its Lorain base for a service day. "And what an incredible experience it was: From sorting and packing to learning more about their mission, we had an absolute blast giving back to the community," according to a partnership statement. "A huge 'thank you' to Second Harvest and their staff for hosting us and for the vital work they do every day," the statement read. "They are a true asset to our community, ensuring that so many of our neighbors have access to nutritious food." The nonprofit serves various counties, including Erie and Huron, distributing more than 12 million pounds of food annually. "Our mission to grow hope in our region by creating pathways to nutritious foods is done with partnerships and innovation," according to the nonprofit. "We want to make sure everyone has access to the food they need to thrive. Utilizing choice pantries, delivery, order ahead, mobile drive-thru distributions and extended hours, we meet people where they are with food options that work for them."
