NORWALK • Students in Norwalk's advanced quantitative reasoning class created a mini golf course with its geometry skills. Mary Willis ran the course with 16 strokes, and Ash Moore, Spencer Shutt and Kilee Duncan had 17. MARGARETTA • Margaretta's freshman boys attended Young Men Innovate at Cedar Point Sports Center. North Point Educational Service Center collaborated with the Greater Sandusky Partnership to put on the event for 1,000 students. They saw innovative technology from local jobs and businesses. • Third-grade students at Margaretta worked at a hot chocolate stand and raised money for charity. The project made them use brainstorming, writing and math skills. They raised more than $300 for Cancer Services. ST. PAUL • St. Paul's cheer team celebrated the end of its season. Several were awarded at the team's annual banquet, including Bryce Cook as Most Valuable Cheerleader and Samantha Gocsik with her Leadership Award. The four team captains were also recognized: Cook, Gocsik, Adele Dowdell and Meadow Burger. MONROEVILLE • Before going on break, Monroeville students tried to convince the lunch ladies to serve their favorite foods by writing and reading letters to them. CLYDE-GREEN SPRINGS • Teachers and Teen Leadership Corps put together a student appreciation project. Teachers made cards for students in their classes and the leadership students delivered them with a bag of chips. EDISON • Edison's Freshman Focus students visited Tiffin University and Terra State. They toured the campuses, explored academic programs and looked at the admissions process. • Edison's speech and debate teams ended their season with an awards banquet. Seven middle school students joined the National Speech and Debate Honor Society and received certificates and paperweights. High school qualifying seniors also walked away with honor cords and jeweled honor keys.
