Car collides with Cameo

SANDUSKY — A Monday night traffic crash resulted in damage to a Sandusky business. Just before 11 p.m., a 17-year-old girl was driving southbound in the 600 block of Fulton St. That section of Fulton is a one-way street for northbound traffic. The girl's car entered the intersection at West Monroe Street, struck an eastbound vehicle and careened into the Cameo Pizza building at the corner, according to a Sandusky police report. The girl's car came to a final rest on Fulton Street, but perpendicular to the path of travel. The car's impact on the building shattered a glass door and damaged a set of wooden stairs. Sandusky police cited the girl for a one-way street violation. She suffered a "possible injury," the report states. The driver of the other vehicle, a 54-year-old man, was not injured. On Tuesday morning Matt Keech, owner of Cameo Pizza, expressed his relief how nobody sustained any major injuries. He noted the crash wouldn't impact his business from operating, which is one of several eateries participating in Sandusky Restaurant Week, which spans March 5-12.
