Fishing expo set for Saturday

HURON — Anglers, outdoor enthusiasts and fishing newcomers alike: mark your calendars. The third-annual Fish Huron Fishing Expo, presented by Buckeye Sports Center, is set for from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday at Mesenburg Plaza, 545 Cleveland Road W., Huron. Admission is $5. Kids 11 and under are free. The Sandusky KOA Holiday Campground and Central Basin Bait and Tackle also provided support for this event. "The Fish Huron Fishing Expo is dedicated to promoting fishing on Lake Erie and connecting anglers with industry professionals, gear providers and charter companies," according to an event statement. "Whether you're an experienced fisherman or just getting started, this expo is the perfect place to prepare for the season ahead." Many consider it a "must-attend event," the statement noted. It's " designed for everyone: from seasoned Lake Erie anglers to those just picking up a rod for the first time," said Doug Studer, a spokesman with Fish Huron. "With spring right around the corner, it's the perfect time to stock up on gear, learn from the pros and connect with fellow fishing enthusiasts."
