Celebrating 4 years of local art in city

SANDUSKY — For the fourth year in a row, the first-floor hallway of Sandusky City Hall — 240 Columbus Ave., Sandusky — has been transformed into an art gallery. Organized by the city's public arts and culture commission, this yearly exhibit gives local artists a chance to share their work with the community. This year's theme, "Connections," which recently debuted encourages artists to think about how things relate to one another. This could mean the bond between friends and neighbors or the way lines and shapes interact in a painting. The exhibit brings together many different ideas and styles. A variety of Local Art The 2025 exhibit includes a mix of paintings, photographs and prints from artists in the area. Some of the featured works include: • Pamela-Jeanne Hatfield — "Rock Stack," photography • Donna Coleman — "Do Si Do," oil on canvas • Susan Prentice — "Self Reflection," "Total Eclipse" and "Butterfly in Flower," photography; "Into the Forest I Go" and "Spring Meadow," acrylic • Justin Nottke — "Pass By," "Firelands Communities" and "Ride Ohio," screen print illustration • Miles Schneider — "Modern Gravity," acrylic • L.G. Greene — "Common Blue," acrylic • Kylee Frederick — "In Dreams," acrylic • Siah Kornegay — "Beautiful Disaster" mixed photography Bringing art to the community The City Hall gallery is a way to bring art into everyday life. It gives artists a public space to show their work and helps people in the community see and talk about local art. "This gallery is about making art part of our daily experience," said city chief planner Arin Blair, who oversees the program. "We want people to walk through City Hall and feel inspired by the creativity in our community." Next time you're at City Hall, be sure to take a stroll down the hallway and check out the exhibit.
