Accounting office changes address

SANDUSKY — The numbers just made sense to open up in a new storefront. After going from place to place, Firelands Accounting Services recently relocated and settled into a new location, 1002 Tiffin Ave. (U.S. 6), across from Cobbs Drive-In in Sandusky. "Thank goodness this spot came up," said owner Jessica Spencer, a 2004 Huron High School graduate who opened up the accounting business about 12 years ago. "Where I was before, it just didn't work. I even worked out of my home, and this is much better. We have stability here now." No matter where she works, Spencer remains committed to helping people with their finances. This would include assisting clients in completing tax returns, setting up budgeting software programs, creating billing systems, overseeing bookkeeping and ensuring compliance. "It's also tax season right now, so we are ready to help," said Spencer, who graduated from Bowling Green State University. "I work with the businesses on this stuff so they can focus on their actual business." Spencer takes pride in calling Firelands Accounting Service a small family business. She receives help from her dad, Lynwood, and receives support from her seven children. People can inquire about services by visiting firelandsaccounting.com. The business does accept new clients. "I understand what helping a family is all about, and I'm trying to help anyone I can," Spencer said.
