Bike Week dates announced

SANDUSKY — Ohio Bike Week organizers on Monday announced the dates for this year's edition of the motorcycle-themed festival. The nine-day event will span from Friday, May 30 through Saturday, June 7, according to Steve Ernst, one of the event's organizers. Ohio Bike Week is one of the largest motorcycle rallies in the nation. Sandusky has been its home for more than two decades. This year's event is being billed as, "25 years of rockin' & ridin' on the shores of Lake Erie," according to a social media post. In previous years, the event has involved multiple motorcycle rides, including one hosted by Jackyl lead singer Jesse James Dupree. The event's world-famous block party in downtown Sandusky will run from Thursday, June 5 through Saturday, June 7. Headlining bands for each night of the block party have not been announced. Previous headliners include Jackyl, Slaughter, Ace Frehley, Mark Farner and Bret Michaels. And, in recent years, the block party has occurred at Barrel House Saloon, Jackson Street Pier, Schade-Mylander Plaza and Shoreline Drive.
