An 'enriching' experience

NORWALK — On Wednesday, the Huron County Growth Partnership hosted a breakfast at which newly elected Huron County commissioners Tom Dunlap and Brad Mesenburg addressed the organization's membership. The event was hosted at the brand-new Huron County Senior Enrichment Center, at 325 Shady Lane Drive, in Norwalk. "The state-of-the-art public facility was an appropriate setting for a panel discussion with the county commissioners as several themes emerged from the discussion, including how public and private partners can leverage each other's investments into the community; managing county facilities and the impact that can have on the community's progress; and building off the successes of the prior county administration," according to a partnership statement. "Both Dunlap and Mesenburg praised outgoing commissioners Skip Wilde and Terry Boose and member of the current administration, Harry Brady, with having the county in an excellent financial position," it continued. "The commissioners conveyed that this footing will allow them to execute their duties from a tactful frame of mind, leading to new opportunities and full of potential in line with Huron County Growth Partnership's mission." As a comprehensive chamber of commerce and economic development organization, one of the partnership's primary roles is to speak for the business community. Wednesday's audience included and balanced mix of business, nonprofit and public leadership from across all sectors in Huron County. In total, about 65 people attended the event.
