President has God complex

During President Trump's inaugural address, he said, "I was saved by God to make America great again", a sign of divine intervention. Yet, unlike almost every President in our history, he did not place his hand on the Bible when swearing to the oath of office. Perhaps his left hand was inside his suit jacket hiding crossed fingers. The Right Rev. Mariann Budde made a heartfelt, sincere request on behalf of immigrants, LGBTQ citizens and others in the crosshairs. But Trump, the self-acclaimed benefit of divine intervention, couldn't show any contrition and just keep his mouth shut. Instead, he used social media to call the Bishop a "radical left hard line Trump hater." He then demanded an apology from the Bishop and her church. Perhaps Trump's perception of divine intervention is more like a God complex, which is defined as someone who believes he is superior to others and has an inflated sense of self-importance, has difficulty accepting criticism and has tendencies of a narcissist. T he Republican lap dogs in Congress flew to his defense. This is now the face of our nation, who after just one week in office has already widened the division between us with his words and actions.
