Walton wins nursing award

NORWALK — Christine "Tina" Walton, a charge nurse in Fisher-Titus' intensive care unit, recently received a Daisy Award for her exceptional care. The award is an international recognition program dedicated to honoring nurses for the compassionate care they provide, no matter where they practice in whatever role they serve, throughout their careers. At Fisher-Titus, recipients of this award are nominated and then selected by a committee with a new recipient chosen every three months. Many people attended Walton's ceremony. This would Fisher-Titus personnel and the family nominating Walton for this award. Due to an influx of nominations in the previous nomination period, two runners-up for the award were selected as well: • Jeremy Perez, a staff nurse in the cardio-invasive department • Grace Rein a staff nurse in the 3 South department.
