Meteorologists at Accuweather explain that Lake Erie's warmer temperature pushes the fall frost farther back for surrounding areas. The first frost for some may not be until November, and temperatures generally take longer to warm up in spring. The Farmers' Almanac does not give a specific fall frost date for Sandusky but places Toledo's typical fall frost date at Nov. 6 and Cleveland's at Nov. 23.
