Library hosting cooking classes, llama party

NORWALK— Norwalk Library's January events calendar boasts cooking events, group conversations and more. The library, 46 W. Main St., Norwalk, will host a variety of events this January. The library will also host storytime for children from birth to 5 years old at 10:30 a.m. on Jan. 9, 16, 23 and 30. Some events do require registration. Check out some notable events.Tuesday • Kids in the Kitchen: From 4:30-5:30 p.m., the library will host an event for attendees grades K-5 to fill cannolis to take home. Registration is required. Wednesday • Teen Cuisine: From 4:30-5:30 p.m., the library will host an event for attendees grades 6-12 to fill cannolis to take home. Registration is required. Jan. 13 • Static Electricity: From 4:30-5:30 p.m., the library will host a variety of science experiments for attendees grades K-5 to celebrate National Static Electricity Day. Registration is required. • Murder Mystery Monday: From 6-7 p.m., the library will host a group discussion on the murder of Kurt Sova. Jan. 15 • Beaded Snowflake: From 4:30-5:30 p.m., the library will host a crafting event for attendees grades K-5. Crafters will use beads, pipe cleaners and yarn to create snowflakes. Jan. 22 • Adult Book Club: From 4:30-5:30 p.m., the library will host its book club for adults. Attendees will discuss "Starling House" by Alix E. Harrow. Copies are available at the main desk. Jan. 28 • Llama Llama Party: From 6-7 p.m., the library will host an all-ages party celebrating the "Llama Llama" children's books. There will be crafts, storytime and more. Jan. 29 • Battle of the Books: From 4:30-5:30 p.m., the library will host attendees grades 4-8 for a discussion about "Inkheart" by Cornelia Funke and a crafting event using the library's withdrawn books.
