Perkins will take on Indian Valley for Division IV state title

Perkins will play in its first state championship game since 1999 when the No. 2 Pirates (14-1) battle No. 6 Gnadenhutten Indian Valley (15-0) at 7:30 p.m. next Saturday. The game will take place Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton. Perkins advanced with a rugged 13-11 win over two-time defending state champion Cleveland Glenville on Friday at Clyde High School. The Braves knocked off Cincinnati Taft 29-20 on Friday in the other Division IV state semifinal. It was a season-low points for Indian Valley, who scored at least 40 points in each of its first 14 games. Indian Valley averages 44.6 points per game and beat five teams that won at least 10 games including three-straight in the playoffs.
