Milan patrol post names trooper of the year

MILAN TWP. — A local Ohio State Highway Patrol post chose a trooper, who they said demonstrates fantastic professionalism, for an annual honor. Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper Andrew Lash was selected as the 2024 Trooper of the Year for the Milan Post. The post's commander, Lt. Brett Gockstetter, in a news release said Lash was selected in recognition of his outstanding service during 2024 at the Milan Post. Fellow co-workers at the Milan post chose Lash based on his leadership abilities, professional ethics and cooperation with supervisors, peers and the public, the release states. Lash joined the patrol in 2019 and began his career at the Milan Post. Other highway patrol awards he earned include the Three-Year Safe Driving Ribbon, Military Service Ribbon, Criminal Patrol Ribbon and Top Performance in Academics in the Academy. Lash, who lives in Sheffield Village with his wife and two children, has served in the past as a field training officer and was also elected as the Milan Post Trooper of the Year in 2022 and 2023.
