Norwalk puts three on SBC Lake teams

Three Norwalk football players were recognized on the All-Sandusky Bay Conference Lake Division teams, released on Tuesday. Junior punter and kicker Tommy Vanderpool was a first team selection for the Truckers (2-9, 0-4) on defense as the specialist. Also for the Truckers, Ben Rothhaar earned second team honors on offense. The senior caught 25 passes for 367 yards (14.7-yard average) with two touchdowns this season. Meanwhile, junior lineman Jose Velasco earned second team defense and honorable mention at offensive tackle. During the regular season, Velasco finished with 33.5 tackles and one sack. Vanderpool punted 43 times for a 34.8-yard average in 11 games. He also made six extra points and one field goals as the Truckers' place kicker. Perkins wide receiver Braylon Collier, a Michigan State recruit, was named the Most Outstanding Performer in the league. During the regular season, he caught 51 passes for 853 yards and 15 TDs for the Pirates (10-1, 4-0), who won the league title outright.
