Huron Library focusing on history

HURON — The Huron Public Library is honoring service vendors, touching on local history and discussing important topics this month. The library, located at 333 Williams St., has a full schedule for November. In addition to daily events, from Nov. 11-15, the library will host a card-making event for Veterans Day. The cards will be sent to local veterans' hospitals. The children 's services department will also celebrate DINO-vember, which is full of dinosaur-themed events throughout the month. Here are some other highlights: • Socrates Cafe: At 7 p.m. on Nov. 11, the library will host its philosophy discussion group for a conversation on whether or not freedom of speech includes disinformation. • Documentary Screening: From 6-7:30 p.m. on Nov. 12, the library will host the Huron Historical Society for a showing of its documentary: "From Bucket Brigades to State-of-the-Art Fire Apparatus: A History of the Huron Fire Department." • Ohio Means Jobs Resource Workshop: From 2-3 p.m. on Nov. 21, the library will host representatives from Ohio Means Jobs for attendees to receive one-on-one resume help, guidance on navigating the organization's website and more. • Book to Movie Discussion: From 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Nov. 25, the library will host a showing of "The Hundred-Foot Journey."
