Our names are Kevin and Betsy Kay. We are writing to you in support of Alicia Roshong as your representative to the State House of Ohio for the 89th District. Some of you may recall a house fire that occurred in Huron on the night of April 1. Our family lost nearly everything we owned including generations of family history on both sides. When such an event happens, we can attest that one does not know where to begin in rearranging one's life. We were put in touch with Alicia through a mutual friend who felt that her experience as a lawyer and her giving nature would help us move forward; how right he was. Alicia was compassionate and knowledgeable as she helped us navigate through the processes of dealing with the city of Huron and deciding how to deal with our property. She put us in touch with a realtor and gave sound advice when we had questions regarding the disposition of our property. She acted as advocate for us with the city and did everything she could on the legal front. Alicia handled all of the background paperwork involved in the selling of our property once we had settled on a buyer. Much of the legal work was volunteered. Our understanding of Alicia's character is that this is par for the course with her. Alicia Roshong is a woman who puts her money where her mouth is and both advocates for — and actively aids — people in need or in distress. In person she is kind and humble. We believe her to be a woman, and a professional, who is truly concerned for the wellbeing of her fellow citizens.
