Suspected drug deal leads to marijuana trafficking charge for Sandusky man

PERKINS TWP. — Police in Perkins Township apprehended a suspected drug dealer last week, after observing a transaction in a Sandusky Mall parking lot.Evan C. Woodburn, 22, is being charged with marijuana trafficking. Adrian B. Hamilton, 22, is being charged in marijuana possession in connection with the same incident.Perkins police Chief Ken Klamar said the arrests came as officers were patrolling the area on Black Friday. A detective became suspicious when he noticed a man, Hamilton, walking from his own vehicle to an unoccupied vehicle and back again.That observation revealed an apparent drug deal: Woodburn is accused of leaving marijuana in the car, on the understanding that Hamilton would leave cash when he picked it up."Rather than a hand-to-hand (transaction), they left it sitting in the car," Klamar said.Police seized $740 in cash from Woodburn, according to a police report.Woodburn's charge, trafficking, is classified as a felony, according to jail records. Hamilton's possession charge is classified as a misdemeanor.Perkins police made an unrelated two unrelated drug arrests the following Monday as well, according to a police report. Two women, Marylee L. Grover, 29, of Port Clinton, and Jonnetta Stolzenburg, 27, of Sandusky, were found in vehicle parked outside a McDonald's with marijuana and prescription drugs in their possession.The report indicates that a 3-year-old boy was in the backseat of the car at the time.Woodburn, Evan.
