Fixing mistakes on voting info

I believe in owning my mistakes and doing the work necessary to fix any problems the mistake(s) may have caused. Because this election year is so important, I am hoping the Sandusky Register will help me by printing this letter to the editor, so I can set the record straight. If you read Serving Our Seniors Magazine, and also the newspaper ("What to know to vote," Sept. 12 Sandusky Register), it is my hope that I am able to reach some – if not all – who have read the Serving Our Seniors Magazine article, "What to Know if You Want to Vote in November 2024." I made two mistakes when describing photo ID requirements. • Correction #1: Instead of writing that a photo ID is required to vote, it should have stated: A photo ID is required to vote in person. FYI – Registered voters can provide the last four digits of their Social Security number to vote by mail. The second incorrect statement I wrote in the article was: "The address on file at the (county board of elections) must be consistent with your ID." • Correction #2 – Your Ohio photo ID can have your old address on it, if the address on file at the county board of elections accurately reflects where you are currently living. To further clarify, an unexpired driver's license, Ohio state ID or interim document with an old address is valid and ACCEPTABLE, if the elections board has your current address on file.
