List: 2024 Halloween events, trick-or-treat times

Here is a list of the area's community Halloween celebrations and trick-or-treat times that have been publicized thus far. Many of these family-friendly events are free. Check with each community or organization hosting an individual event for more details. This list will be updated as more events are made known. Community Halloween events Bellevue • 6 p.m. Thursday — Bellevue's annual Halloween parade Lineup for the parade begins at 5:30 p.m. at North Street/Central Park. The parade begins at 6 p.m. and ends at the train museum. Join the train museum's annual safe Halloween from 6-8 p.m. • 5-7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26 at St. Paul's United Church of Christ — Trunk-or-Treat All are welcome. • 6-7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29 at Bellevue Care Center — Trick-or-Treat Join us for our trick-or-treat. Clyde • 4 p.m. Oct. 26 on North Main Street — Clyde Halloween Parade The parade happens at 4 p.m. with line-up beginning at 3:30 p.m. There is also a costume-judging costume at 3:30 p.m. inside of the grade school with float judging happening at 3 p.m. Huron • 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24 at Admiral's Pointe Nursing & Rehabilitation — Trick-or-Treat Party Come out for an awesome trick-or-treat party. • 5-6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29 at Fabens Park — Huron Rotary Club Trick-or-Treat Please join Huron for a great community event at Fabens Park. Kelleys Island • 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26 at the Erie County 4H Campgrounds — Family Hay Ride Every year on family Halloween, the Kelleys Island Landowners Association hosts a family hayride at the 4H camp. Rain or shine, the event will happen, offering hot dogs marshmallow toasting, crafts, games and a hayride. Marblehead • 6-7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31 at the Ida Rupp Public Library's Marblehead Branch — Books and Treats Stop in the Marblehead peninsula branch library during the Marblehead trick-or-treat celebration for a treat and a free book. Milan • 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26 at EHOVE Career Center's parking lot — EHOVE Trunk or Treat Organized by EHOVE business and marketing students as a community service initiative, it's back for a spook-tacular second year after a wildly popular first year. EHOVE high school students from all programs will be passing out candy to area schoolchildren who attend the event with their families. There will be candy, cookies, costumes, decorated cars, EHOVE fire trucks, ambulances and police cars and more. • 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 27 in Milan Village Square — Halloween Parade The parade route will begin at Village Square and end at Oak Street near the elementary school. Children wanting to participate can gather on the north end of the square and will be the last group of the parade. Trick-or-treat throughout the village will commence immediately following the parade, ending at 6 p.m. • 11 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Oct. 26 at Milan Public Library — Spooktacular Halloween Costume Party Join in on the fun at the library as it celebrates the "boo-tiful," pumpkin-filled time of year. Everyone's invited to the Halloween party and costume contest. There will be games and goodies as well as awesome prizes for the winners of the costume contest. Norwalk • 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26 — Halloween Parade down Main Street The event will be followed by a merchant trick-or-treat immediately after the parade. Oak Harbor • 5:30-6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31 throughout downtown Oak Harbor — Oak Harbor Halloween Join in on the spooky season at Oak Harbor for a safe, family-friendly way to celebrate Halloween. The Downtown Trick-or-Treat is free to the public and will occur rain or shine. Perkins Township • 4:30-6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29 at the Erie County Fairgrounds — Trunk-of-Treat Bring your kids, grandkids, nieces and nephews to enjoy this safe and fun trick-or-treat event. Please come in costume. We will be passing out treat bags. Port Clinton • 1-3 p.m Oct. 26 along Main Street Port Clinton — Downtown Trick-or-Treat Area children will be invited to trick or treat at downtown businesses from 1-3 p.m. In 2023, they had more than 800 children and their families. They are anticipating even more participation this year. Decorate your vehicle with your favorite kid-friendly Halloween theme or character and join the fun. Put-in-Bay • Saturday, Oct. 26 all day across the island — Halloween at the Bay Get ready for a spirited Halloween celebration at Put-in-Bay. This event invites you to experience Halloween a little early with a mix of spooky fun and festive excitement. The local taverns will be decorated in Halloween themes, and the downtown streets of Put-in-Bay will be filled with people in costumes. Join in for one of the final weekends of the season where the island transforms into a Halloween haven, offering a unique and thrilling experience for visitors and locals alike. Sandusky • 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24 at Ghostly Manor Thrill Center Join in for a night of spooky fun at Ghostly Manor Thrill Center. There will be free trick-or-treating for all ages. Enter the costume contest at 7 p.m. for your chance to win prizes. Local businesses will be joining in the fun, handing out candy to all their trick-or-treaters. Along with face-painting and other spooky activities as well. • 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26 at Mad River Harley-Davidson — Mad Monster Bash Join in on the fun of the Mad Monster Bash. People can expect trick-or-treating, food and drinks and a Halloween costume contest with a chance to win a $100 gift card. Bring your family and friends for a day of fun, treats and a hauntingly good time. • 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26 in downtown Sandusky — 18th-annual Downtown Trick-or-Treat The event includes a Sandusky Farmers Market pet costume contest at 10 a.m., a little witches walk parade at 10:45 a.m., downtown trick-or-treat from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and then a pumpkin drop at 1:30 p.m. on Jackson Street Pier. Vermilion • 3:30-5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30 at Vermilion High School — Art with Pumpkins Come support local charities. For a donation only, people can paint or care a pumpkin, enjoy apple cider and doughnuts.
