Go with the Glo

SANDUSKY — For more than three decades, and ever since Day 1, Amy Schuldt continues to take great pride in making people look good and feel even better about themselves. "That's what I enjoy doing," said Schuldt, who began in the beauty industry in 1991. About a year ago, Schuldt opened Glo Skin Studio — 919 W. Washington St. (U.S. 6) near Better Half Family Diner — in Sandusky. Upon relocating from Florida to Ohio, after her mother, Carol Keller, passed away, Schuldt began working for Maria Berardi at Sandusky Massotherapy until an opportunity she "couldn't pass up" arose. The storefront now housing Glo became available, and Schuldt, a 1985 Margaretta High School graduate, envisioned turning this building into a one-stop shop for beauty. She transformed the space, now heavily themed in vibrant pink colors, to offer many services. This would include various massage therapies, facial treatments, dermaplaning, chemical peels, hydrafacials, full-body waxing, manicures, pedicures, botox and fillers. There's also a gift shop area with accessories available for purchase. "Plus we will always have monthly specials," she said. Regarding the pink theme, it plays into Glo's name, Schuldt said. "When I took over this place, it didn't have much color," she said. "And my name is called 'Glo,' so it should be glowing." On Wednesday, Schuldt hosted a one-year anniversary party for a colleague: aesthetic nurse Carrie Greene. The other staff members include two massage therapists: Brittany Nesbitt and Cate Klatt. Schuldt also threw the party to show appreciation for her "loyal" clients, she said, crediting them with her shop's success so far.
