Firelands names new laboratory director

SANDUSKY — Firelands Health recently named Christopher Gase as the organization's new laboratory director. Gase will oversee the organization's inpatient and outpatient laboratory operations across six locations. He has served in laboratory leadership for more than 20 years. He also taught at Marion Technical College in Marion, Ohio, for seven years, focusing on laboratory science. Gase earned a: • Master's degree in business administration from Tiffin University • Bachelor's degree in business and allied health from Heidelberg in Tiffin • Associate's degree in medical laboratory science from Marion Technical College in Marion • Certification with the American Society of Clinical Pathologists His first lab training was with the U.S. Army. "I have experience in very large and small institutions. Firelands Health is a great fit for me, and I am excited to lead here," Gase said. "I am also glad to return to the area and to be closer to family." Outside of work, Gase enjoys spending time with his wife and dog. He also volunteers with the Knights of Columbus in Galion.
