MILAN TWP. – Edison moved to 4-0 on the season with a 36-0 win against Northridge on Friday night. The Chargers were ranked No. 13 in Division V this week. Northridge dropped to 2-2. Cy Finnen and Bryson Wittmer each rushed for two touchdowns. Abe Hermes also scored on a run. Standout quarterback Evan Benfer ran 13 times for 189 yards and 2 TDs for the Div. VII No. 7-ranked Eagles, who improved to 4-0 overall and 1-0 in the FC. Benfer added an 85-yard kickoff return TD for Monroeville. Landen Roeder added 101 yards and a TD on 14 attempts, while Colt Clark added 64 yards on five attempts. Crestview fell to 0-4, 0-1. The Eagles host South Central next week. Ottawa Hills 37, Port Clinton 30 OTTAWA HILLS — Port Clinton fell to 1-3 overall with a 37-30 loss at Ottawa Hills. The Redskins trailed just 21-20 at halftime to the Green Bears, who improved to 3-1. Malakaii Pinkelton (48 yards rushing) and Wyatt Yarbrough (44) each scored a touchdown on the ground for PC. Brian Rohrer had three catches for 85 yards while Gabe Koskela caught two passes for 70 yards and a touchdown. Vermilion 25, Elyria Catholic 9 VERMILION – Vermilion cruised to a 25-9 victory over Elyria Catholic. Aaron Mathis led the Sailors' charge to a 4-0 record with three rushing scores, and Evan Kuhns punched in another on a 20-yard run midway through the third quarter. A late 56-yard punt return in the second quarter put the Sailors at the Panther 2-yard line, allowing Mathis to convert on a 1-yard score. Up next for Vermilion, the Sailors head west for a matchup at Sandusky. The Crimson Flashes, who dropped to 2-2 overall and 0-1 in SBC River action, trailed 14-6 after one quarter and 27-6 at halftime. Western Reserve 35, Plymouth 0 COLLINS – Western Reserve improved to 3-1 overall and 1-0 in Firelands Conference action as it defeated Plymouth, 35-0 on Friday. Plymouth fell to 1-3, 0-1. The game was scoreless after one quarter before the Roughriders led 13-0 at halftime. Danbury 52, Stryker 26 DANBURY TWP. – Danbury won its second straight game, piling up the points in a 52-26 win against Stryker in an 8-man game. The Lakers improved to 2-1 while Stryker dropped to 1-2.
