Fremont man facing child porn charges

FREMONT — A Fremont man was recently indicted on multiple felony sex charges for allegedly downloading and possessing child pornography. In June, a Sandusky County grand jury indicted Justin M. Mann, 30, of the 1000 block of Timpe Road, on the following charges: • Eight counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor or impaired person, a second-degree felony • Four counts of pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor or impaired person, a second-degree felony According to Mann's indictment, the alleged crimes occurred on or about Aug. 2, 2023, where he allegedly "downloaded a nine-minute twenty-five-second video depicting multiple adult males in various stages of sexual intercourse with multiple minor females," along with other pornographic videos and images. The investigation into Mann first began on June 28, 2023, after the Sandusky County Sheriff's Office was notified by the Cuyahoga County Prosecutors Office's Ohio Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force after they had received a cyber tip regarding "apparent child pornography" within Sandusky County's jurisdiction, according to the incident report. Due to the tip that they had received, the task force sent a grand jury subpoena to Spectrum, with the IP address leading back to Mann's residence. Mann was arrested and booked into the Sandusky County Jail on Aug. 18. His next court hearing is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Sept. 16, and his bond is currently $100,000.
