Car show creates closures

SANDUSKY — A popular yearly car show fundraiser takes place this weekend — and with it comes several street closures throughout downtown Sandusky. Earlier this week, city officials notified the public about which roads they can't access during the annual Crusin' by the Bay event, which occurs on Friday and Saturday. Among the posted closures: From 7 a.m. Friday through 8 p.m. Saturday • Columbus Avenue from about the Erie County Courthouse to Water Street • The 100 block of Water St. • The 100 block of E. Market St. • The entirety of Washington Row • Washington Street (U.S. 6) from Jackson to Wayne streets From 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday • West Market Street between Columbus Avenue and Jackson Street Checking out the show Now in its 32nd year, and hosted by the Remember Crusin' Car Club of Northern Ohio, this car show and cruise-in benefits the North Coast Cancer Patient Services Fund. The fund provides local support for cancer patient services, patient financial assistance, programs and education. The rain-or-shine event kicks off at 10 a.m. on both days, extending to 10 p.m. on Friday and 6 p.m. on Saturday. There will be awards, raffles, music, food and more.
