Interim principal appointed

SANDUSKY — Sandusky Schools recently addressed its community about the unexpected vacancy in its primary school principal position. On Tuesday, the primary school's principal, Eric Johnston, experienced a health emergency, according to district officials. He was transported to the hospital and is now receiving care. Johnston will be stepping away from his position until he recovers. The district asked the community to keep Johnston and his family in its thoughts. During this time, Todd Boggs will step in as interim principal. Boggs extended his gratitude to the school board, superintendent Dan Rambler and the rest of the staff who trust him to take on this position. "I am honored to serve the (Sandusky Schools) family and look forward to working with all stakeholders as we begin the year and work to continue the positive trajectory toward the 2030 District Plan and defined learning outcomes," Boggs said. Boggs recently retired as Perkins Schools' superintendent. During his time at Perkins, Boggs was able to accomplish many tasks, including improvements at the school's football field, academic improvement proven in state evaluations and the hiring of Brad Watson as an athletic director.
