Murder suspect arrested

SANDUSKY — On Tuesday, the U.S. Marshals Service Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force, with the help of Sandusky police, executed an arrest warrant on a teen who was wanted for murder. The teen was one of three people arrested across the state on Wednesday morning for two separate shootings that both happened in Franklin County, according to a press release from the U.S. Marshals Service. Isaiah Wharton-Howard, 18, was listed as the suspect in a shooting death in Columbus. Officials from the marshals service allege that Wharton-Howard had an altercation with the victim and then shot and killed him. "He was arrested in the 1400 block of Campbell St. in Sandusky, where he was hiding with friends," the release states. On Wednesday, Wharton-Howard was booked into the Erie County Jail where, as of late Wednesday, remains locked up on a no-bail order. It's believed authorities will attempt to extradite Wharton-Howard back to Franklin County to await trial.
