Meeting the officers: Collin Lloyd

PERKINS TWP. — Perkins police recently started a new process to shed some light on police officers serving the community. "Throughout the year, we will begin highlighting our officers as they reach their anniversary dates," according to a department statement. The series, published on Perkins police's Facebook page, kicked off not too long ago. Most recently, it introduced Officer Collin Lloyd, who recently completed his second full-time year with the force. It offered a question-and-answer session with Lloyd, who enjoys Mexican food and mint chocolate chip ice cream. He enjoys to cook and is known for making Philly cheesestakes. Q: Why did you want to become a police officer? CL: My dad has spent his career working as a corrections officer. Growing up, he would always come home and tell my brothers and I stories from work. This always left an impression on me and made me want to get into a field related to law enforcement. Q: What is your favorite part of being a police officer? CL: I like that every day is different. Each day is a surprise, you never know what you may get into. Q: What do you enjoy doing in your off time? CL: I like spending time with my family, playing video games, and watching football- especially the Cleveland Browns and Michigan.
