Marblehead among most welcoming towns

MARBLEHEAD — A local village found itself on a prestigious list. In its Most Welcoming Towns for Newcomers list, ElectricityPrices.com ran a survey of 3,700 seasoned travelers to reveal the most welcoming destinations in America for out-of-towners. "They wanted to highlight the nation's unsung heroes, the towns where warmth and friendliness are the cornerstones of the community, the types of places where newcomers can expect to be embraced with open arms and where the essence of hospitality creates unforgettable experiences," according to a survey statement." Marblehead found itself on the list, coming in at No. 52. It placed above two others in Ohio not far from the local area: Granville in Licking County and Yellow Springs in Greene County. Stockbridge, Massachusetts, earned the overall No. 1 spot. "These towns exemplify the best of American hospitality," according to a survey statement. "They are places where newcomers are not just welcomed but embraced as part of the community. It's this spirit of inclusion and warmth that truly makes these towns special." Regarding Marblehead, the survey noted the following: "Marblehead, located on the shores of Lake Erie, is known for its scenic charm and friendly residents. Newcomers are welcomed with open arms and quickly find themselves part of the community. The residents of Marblehead are always ready to offer a helping hand, share local traditions, and include new faces in town events."
