Cedar Point design firm closing

When an amusement park like Cedar Point sets out to reimagine the area of the park, it relies on talented designers to bring concepts to reality. This involves architects, landscape architects, engineers and visionaries to look at something and see the potential of that concept. The Boardwalk area at Cedar Point was conceptualized and brought to reality by design firm BDR Design Group out of Cincinnati. In addition to an overall master plan for the area, it designed the plans for the Grand Pavilion and incorporated Cedar Point's vision of the Wild Mouse and relocation of other rides from the park. The original renovation of Castaway Bay water park at Cedar Point also included the thematic guest experiences by the BDR Design Group. The company famous for bringing fun to the midways has announced after 40 years of operation that it will be closing its doors on Sept. 30. The BDR Design Group, named after the firm's founder and president, Bruce D. Robinson, opened in 1983. The owner is now planning to retire, and the six employees are looking for new positions at other area design firms.
