Balloon business finds new home

HURON — Violet Pineapple Balloons, a business around for several years now, recently found a new home at 507 Cleveland Road W., within the Port Huron Plaza, in Huron. The business provides decorating services for a variety of celebrations: from weddings to parties and corporate events. And a new storefront, the company's first, allows the business to continue servicing the public with the opportunity to expand upon its current offerings. For those unfamiliar, the business specializes in balloon artistry, helium or otherwise, offering balloon arches, columns, bouquets, centerpieces, sculptures, large-scale installations and custom designs on the balloons themselves. "We do this by attending conferences and multiple training workshops a year with the guidance of a balloon business coach," owner Nikki Wade said. Wade also operates off what's known as an "extensive vendors list" if customers need help choosing and/or booking a party location, caterer, dessert vendor, marquee letters and more. "We pride ourselves on outstanding hospitality and customer service," Wade said. "We want you to have a fast, pleasant experience from your first inquiry with us to the event take-down." After wanting to expand her home-based business, Wade started looking for community-centered spaces. She wanted to stay close to home, due to her kids' busy schedules, and, eventually, the spot in the Port Huron Plaza became open, and an opportunity arose. One huge advantage to the area is its convenience and ability to serve as a pickup spot for customers. "We are incredibly grateful to be in a plaza where there are other amazing businesses and a lot of traffic," Wade said. "We are hoping that this grows our business as well."
