Man killed by train

Update 1 p.m. SANDUSKY — A Sandusky man is dead after he was struck by a train late Sunday evening. At about 11:40 p.m., first responders were called to the railroad crossing on Mills Street in Sandusky for a report of a man struck by a train which was traveling east. When paramedics arrived, they found a deceased man between the tracks and St. Joseph's Cemetery, according to Sandusky fire Capt. Jim Green. Sandusky police identified the man as 23-year-old Logan Stevens. Officers located Stevens' vehicle nearby and spoke with family members who said he had been experiencing a mental health crisis, according to Sandusky police Chief Jared Oliver. "Based upon a preliminary investigation into the incident, it appears this was an intentional act," Oliver said. Police continue to investigate the incident. The man's name and age was not released pending notification of next of kin, according to Green. Sandusky police officers called for a tow truck for a vehicle found vacant in the cemetery.
