Fremont welcomes 2 to school team

FREMONT — Fremont Schools recently announced the hires of two new administrators who will begin their new roles with the district now and ahead of the 2024-25 school year. James Boss The school board appointed James Boss as the district's new student services director. He comes from Benton-Carroll-Salem Schools in Oak Harbor where he spent the past nine years as its director of student services and an additional five years as a school psychologist. Boss takes on the role as Abby Abernathy transitions to her new position as assistant superintendent. With this hire, "Fremont Schools are poised and ready to elevate the district to a new level," according to a district statement. "Jim is enthusiastic and prepared to take on the challenges that Fremont City Schools will bring." Ryan Norris The school board brought on Ryan Norris to serve as Ross High School's new principal. As the former assistant principal of Clyde High School, Norris brings 11 years of experience to this job. Norris succeeds Christine Orvets, who served as the principal of Ross for the past two years. Before this, she worked in various leadership positions within the district. "We extend our best wishes to Christine as she embarks on retirement," according to a district statement.
