House tour returning for first time in 2 decades

Editor's note: The Old House Guild of Sandusky is a nonprofit dedicated to the preservation, restoration, and adaptive use of Sandusky's historic structures. It's an all-volunteer preservation organization that engages the Sandusky community in a variety of activities and events aligned with its mission. SANDUSKY — The Old House Guild of Sandusky is happy to announce the rebirth of a local garden tour event after an absence since the summer of 2002. Our Garden Tour 2024 will take place from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday, June 23. We plan to make this an annual event. The tour will consist of eight properties where you may leisurely walk through to witness summer in full bloom. Homeowners are currently tending to their plants and putting the finishing touches on their creations for your enjoyment. Whether you have a postage-size yard or a sprawling lawn and garden, we are certain you will come away with lots of ideas for your own property. Guests will be able to visit all properties in whatever order they wish, but we strongly encourage a stop at the Cooke Dorn Museum. At that stop, we will offer light refreshments. You are welcome to walk around the grounds, and local vendors will have information on discounts and promotional materials for all who attend. In addition, ticket holders can tear off a door prize stub to deposit for a chance to win various items, and the Friends of the Sandusky Greenhouse will have plants available for a donation. What a nice way to enjoy a Sunday afternoon admiring beautiful gardens in Sandusky.
