Car runs over CP employee's legs

SANDUSKY — Sandusky police are investigating a report of a vehicle allegedly running over a Cedar Point employee's legs and leaving the scene on Friday. Officers responded to the park's main parking lot at 8 p.m. following reports of a hit-skip crash involving a park traffic employee. Once on scene, the employee advised officers that he had been run over by someone driving a Cadillac Escalade, according to a police report. A witness of the incident told officers that the vehicle had left the area and that he heard someone yelling for the car to stop because they were running the employee over. The witness said that he saw the employee fall onto the ground and that the car continued to run over both of the employee's legs and then kept driving, the police report states. The witness "ran up to the window and yelled at the driver to stop and that he had just run over somebody," the report states. "(The witness) stated the driver would not look in his direction and kept driving. (The witness) took a picture of the vehicle and license plate and noted that the driver appeared to be a white male, possibly with facial hair. (The witness) also stated the passenger seemed to be a white female." First responders transported the employee to Firelands Regional Medical Center in Sandusky for treatment, the report states, noting this case remains under investigation.
