Nurses ready for next level

HURON TWP. — The Firelands Regional Medical Center School of Nursing hosted a graduation ceremony for its students on Friday at BGSU Firelands in Huron Township. Earning their diplomas puts each graduate one step closer to becoming a registered nurse. They now must take an exam to receive licensure before becoming a registered nurse. "With a history dating back to 1905, Firelands Regional Medical Center School of Nursing, previously Providence Hospital School of Nursing, has a long-standing reputation for excellence in nursing education," according to an organizational statement. Affiliated with Firelands Health and its hospital, the school is based in Sandusky. Almost 2,000 people have graduated from the school since its inception in 1905. And, year after year, the Sandusky-based school constantly ranks among the top registered nursing programs in Ohio. Here are the 2024 graduates: Olivia Arthur, Megan Barber, Sela Berry, Veronica Brown, Briana Busby, Natasha Doughty, Katelyn Elmlinger, Taylor Fox, Destiny Hamman, Ashley Huntley, Emily Litz, Allison Martin, Elizabeth McCloy, Shawnita Miller, Elaynah Noftz, Jody Peterman, Shyanne Phillips, Melinda Pickens, Keyara Schneider, Kenneth Seibold, Cailtyn Silas, Lyndsey Sitterly, Paige Stacy, Mira Sweat, Madison Taylor, Tabitha Thom, Jaden Ward, Madison Whittaker and Taylor Whitworth. "This Class of 2024 will do great things and has so much ahead of them," according to an organizational statement.
