New stage productions coming to Cedar Point

SANDUSKY — Of course, the masses flock to Cedar Point for the relentless amount of thrill rides. In addition, the dining throughout the park is the best it has ever been, so running up for an evening walk and meal is something our family often does on a whim. But the real ambiance comes from the people. One element we have been enjoying more and more is the live entertainment throughout the park. From the stage productions to the live bands, the shows bring an exciting element to the midways. Ahead of the park opening to the public, on Saturday, Cedar Point has released the list of summer entertainment guests can expect when visiting the park. This year at the Red Garter Saloon, guests can see the production of Back Then Right Now. Performing May 18 through Aug. 18, the house band will perform a variety of hits from classic rock to country. One of our personal favorite live entertainment lineups is the Bands in Residence program. Cedar Point has brought in some excellent bands from across the country to perform on various stages throughout the park. This year, 42 bands will take up three stages running from May 4 through Sept. 2. Boardwalk Nights is the new iteration of the Cedar Point beach party taking place nights July 19 through Aug.18. Typically a live DJ will be spinning tunes into the night. Peanuts character appearances will take place on the Boardwalk, Camp Snoopy and Planet Snoopy all summer long from May 4 through Sept. 2. The Jack Aldrich Theatre will debut a new production, Class of '99. Should be a great 90's throwback party. Runs June 8 through August 18. Camp Snoopy Theatre brings Party with the Peanuts daily from May 25 through Aug. 18. Also sharing the stage is Snoopy's Dog Days of Summer. Celebration Stage once again brings back the high-energy show The Rally. Finally, the Swell Tones throw back that 50's vibe in front of Coasters Diner June 1 through Aug. 18. As a reminder, looking ahead to HalloWeekends, it has already been announced that Midnight Syndicate will not be returning this season for their live stage productions.
