Area sees 'great' growth

HURON TWP. — Those representing the Greater Sandusky Partnership attended the Shores & Islands Ohio annual meeting on April 16 at the Sandusky-area Kalahari Resorts & Conventions. The team got excited over: • Sending off Brian Shanle, the area Kalahari manager and partnership member, who's leaving the Sandusky resort to lift up a new company property in Virginia • Seeing year-over-year growth in the number of visitors staying in local hotels during the fall, winter and spring seasons "We really are a year-round destination with a wide range of exciting amenities and attractions, and it's great to see more people are realizing it," according to an organizational statement. "The Shores & Islands Ohio annual meetings are always a great hit and a lovely event to attend, but this year was special. The (bureau's) team have been doing the hard work and it shows. Our region is growing and flourishing all because of the watering cans of those who care."
