1 seriously hurt in Friday crash

MILAN — A police report released over the weekend revealed more details on a crash involving two vehicles and six people, including one seriously hurt, at about 5:15 p.m. Friday in Milan. A report written by Milan police outlines what allegedly occurred: • A 2000 Saturn was traveling west on Perrin Road. In this car were four people, all minors. • A witness stated the Saturn didn't come to a complete stop at the intersection of Perrin Road and Ohio 601. • The Saturn was struck as it attempted to enter the intersection by a 2024 GMC truck, traveling north of Ohio 601. The GMC driver "attempted to stop, but it was too late." • There were two people inside the truck, including one adult and one child. • The driver of the Saturn was taken, by helicopter, to a Cleveland-area medical facility. "The driver was unable to get out of the vehicle because of damage to the vehicle and because the truck was still in contact with the driver's side of the car." • The GMC driver said he was traveling the approximate speed limit of this area, 50 mph on Ohio 601. • The Saturn's other occupants were treated at Fisher-Titus Medical Center for minor injuries and were released. • The GMC's occupants didn't sustain injuries. • Both vehicles sustained extreme damage with both being towed from the scene. On Saturday, Milan police Chief Bob Meister said the Saturn driver was in stable condition. There's been no update since. The crash remains under investigation.
