Edison grad Adam Wolf called up to Triple-A, makes debut for Toledo

TOLEDO — Adam Wolf is one level shy of the big leagues. The Edison High School graduate was promoted Thursday to Triple-A Toledo in the Detroit Tigers' system. Wolf began the season on the roster at Double-A Erie. This is Wolf's first stop in Triple-A. He has pitched the last two full seasons at Erie. Wolf was pressed into action right away for the Mud Hens. He pitched two scoreless innings Thursday night at Iowa, striking out four batters and walking two. Wolf, 27, has been in the Tigers organization since Detroit took him in the fifth round of the 2018 MLB Draft out of Louisville. The 6-foot-6 lefty has a career 3.88 earned run average in the minor leagues with 385 strikeouts in 398 innings pitched. He went 5-4 with a 3.48 ERA for Erie last year, striking out 79 batters in 85 1/3 innings. Wolf's best season in the minors was 2022 when he went 5-4 with a 2.72 ERA for Erie with 92 strikeouts in 89 1/3 innings. Toledo will play out its series in Iowa through Sunday. The Mud Hens are off Monday, then open up a six-game home series against Indianapolis on Tuesday, April 9. First pitch Tuesday night in Toledo is scheduled for 6:35 p.m.
