PREP ROUNDUP: Norwalk comes up short in 2nd half

SYLVANIA — Host Sylvania Southview pulled away from visiting Norwalk in the second half of a 53-38 win on Friday night in a Division I sectional championship game. The No. 10 seed in the Northwest District, the Truckers close the season with an overall mark of 12-11. The Truckers trailed 20-11 after one quarter, but held the Cougars to four points in the second quarter to pull within 24-21 at halftime. Southview (18-5) answered with a 14-7 edge in the third quarter, and kept Norwalk at bay from there. Mason Gamble scored 13 points for the Truckers, who also got nine from Ben Rothhaar and eight from Garrett Demuth. II sectional title game. Clyde (7-17) led the No. 4 Rams (12-11) by a 36-32 advantage entering the final quarter after it outscored Rogers by a 21-7 margin in the third. However, the Rams closed the game with 19 of the final 30 points to advance to a district semifinal at Millbury Lake next week. After scoring 43 points in a win over Maumee on Tuesday, Olson added 34 in Friday's loss to give him 77 points in the two sectional games. Crawford 52, Plymouth 30 NORTH ROBINSON — The top-seeded Eagles steadily outscored the visiting Big Red to win a Div. IV sectional championship. The Eagles (17-6) face No. 5 Mansfield Christian (20-4) at 6 p.m. Tuesday in a district semifinal at Willard. Seneca East 74, So. Central 33 ATTICA — The No. 11-seed Trojans were no match for the host and No. 2 Tigers in a sectional title game Friday night. South Central ends the season at 3-20 overall. BOWLING Edison's Lewis 19th at state COLUMBUS — Edison sophomore Hayden Lewis rolled a 618 series to come in 19th at the Division II state tournament at HP Lanes. Lewis rolled a 256 to start his day off, then followed with 177 and 185. His 19th-place finish was out of 101 competing bowlers.
