Restaurant Week returns

SANDUSKY — Get ready for another helping of Sandusky Restaurant Week. This annual event, kicking off Monday and spanning through March 10, showcases "the vibrant culinary landscape" across Sandusky, according to McKenzie Spriggs, director of Destination Sandusky. Destination, a program of the Greater Sandusky Partnership, aims to promote and support the city. New for 2024: The culinary celebration features eateries citywide, expanding from its former footprint of solely downtown. "From longstanding favorites to exciting newcomers, Sandusky Restaurant Week offers a diverse array of dining experiences," said Spriggs, underscoring how these businesses will "tantalize and excite every palate." More than 20 locations agreed to participate in this year's event, ranging from fine-dining to fast-casual establishments. This would include a few places making their Restaurant Week debuts. Diners can expect these locations to offer their regular menu items in addition to specialty options. Spriggs stressed how the week not only introduces but also re-emphasizes what's available food-wise in the city, encouraging locals and visitors to make follow-up visits all year long. "The tourist season won't start ramping up until late spring," Spriggs said. "Sandusky Restaurant Week is a great opportunity for guests to support local establishments at a time they need it most." While all different in nature, owners participating in Restaurant Week united, each eagerly looking forward to serving customers. This would include: • Andrea Crawford owner of Crush Winebar: "Crush Winebar is pleased to be involved in Sandusky Restaurant Week again, knowing the impact it makes on local eateries. It encourages our community to support local and affords the opportunity to try new recipes." • Lauren Krueger, owner of Wake Up and Waffle: "Wake Up and Waffle is not just a local restaurant. We are part of the Sandusky restaurant family. Sandusky Restaurant Week is a growing tradition to showcase how many fabulous flavors and diverse atmospheres there are in our amazing city." • Suzi Ackerman, manager of J Bistro: "This event allows us to showcase our creativity and hospitality through our event menu."
