ALL-SBC BOYS: Henlon, Dawson, Kreais earn top honors

Sandusky's Jason Henlon has picked up another player of the year honor. After being named District 6's top D-I boys basketball player, the Blue Streaks junior earned Most Outstanding Performer in the SBC Lake Division, the league announced Tuesday. Henlon led Sandusky to a 21-1 regular season record, including 10-0 in the Lake. The Streaks became the first team to run the table in the Lake since the SBC went to its current three-division setup. In the regular season, Henlon put up 17.6 points, 5.5 rebounds, 5.2 assists and 2.4 steals per game. Henlon was joined on the Lake first team by Clyde's Brayden Olson, Perkins' Joey Diederich, Columbian's Brady Gooding and Bellevue's Logan Hartley. Olson led the division in scoring at 23.8 points per game and has knocked down 81 3-pointers, a new Clyde single-season record. Diederich averaged 11.7 points and 4.3 assists per game. Hartley led Bellevue in scoring at 11.7 points a contest while grabbing 6.6 rebounds a night. The Bay Division's top performer was Willard senior Max Dawson, a repeat selection. Dawson, an Ashland commit, led the entire SBC in scoring at 26.2 points per game as the Flashes shared the league title with Margaretta. Julian Washington was the Polar Bears' first-team representative. He averaged 20.1 points per game, including 31 in the clincher last Friday against Edison. Huron's Jackson McNulty made the first team with averages of 17.0 points and 9.4 rebounds per night. So did Port Clinton's Jackson Beasley after scoring 18.8 points and dishing out 4.5 assists per contest. Willard's Cam Robinson (17.1 ppg) rounded out the Bay first team. The SBC River Division also had a repeat top performer, Hopewell-Loudon's Evan Kreais. He averaged 13.6 points and 7.1 rebounds per game for the league champion Chieftains. Danbury and St. Mary Central Catholic each put a player on the River Division second team. Tyler Harris represented the Lakers after leading the league in scoring at 18.6 points per game in the regular season.
