HURON TWP. — The 2024 Home Design and Remodeling Expo is poised to bring together locals and home experts at a three-day event. The Home Expo, hosted at Sawmill Creek Resort, 400 Sawmill Creek Drive W., Huron, spanning three days — Friday through Sunday — gives those in the area looking to remodel their home or build a brand new one firsthand access to numerous vendors. The expo is organized by the Erie County Home Builders Association. The show will have 55 vendors representing a wide array of area businesses offering numerous specialties — from roofers and electricians to contractors and insurers. There's no admission cost to attend the expo, which is open from 1-8 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. Here's some other special happenings on tap for the expo: Give back The American Red Cross has, in recent times, sounded an urgent call for blood donations amid a nationwide shortage. Those attending the Home Expo can offer a helping hand during a daylong blood donation drive. The Red Cross will be hosting that drive in the Wildflower Rooms of Sawmill Creek Resort from noon to 6 p.m. on Friday, March 1. Those wishing to donate can make an appointment by visiting eriecountyhomebuilders.com/2024-home-design-remodeling-show. On location For those curious about what's on offer at the fair, they can tune into two live broadcasts showing off what's at the Home Expo. Register file screenshot At about 1 p.m. on Friday, March 1, the Sandusky Register will host a live segment of "Between the Lines Live" at the Home Expo. Executive editor Matt Westerhold will take a walk through the expo floor and spotlight a handful of exhibitors. Listeners can tune in from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for live coverage from the expo. Meet the K-9s Also on Saturday, expo-goers can meet the dogs that help protect and serve the community. K-9 officers and handlers from four different departments: Perkins police, Huron police, Sandusky police and the Erie County Sheriff's Office, will be on hand between 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. for demonstrations.
