Look up to see what's new at Cedar Point

SANDUSKY — Of course, most guests will be keeping an eye on the queue for the new Top Thrill 2 when Cedar Point opens its gates on May 4. However, it will not be the only new attraction for the park's 155th season. The famous Cedar Point Sky Ride attraction, taking guests from the front of the park back to the midway split near Corkscrew, was manufactured by Von Roll and opened in 1962. Over the years, the paint and decorations of the cabins has gone through many iterations. Cedar Point has announced that the cabins will be getting a slick refresh for 2024. In addition to a new Cedar Point logo, each cabin will feature striping of the same color shade, and what most amusement park geeks will appreciate, a vintage Von Roll logo on the doors. While the Sky Ride was the first attraction built by Von Roll at Cedar Point, in later years they also installed the Space Spiral (1965 to 2012) and Frontier Lift (1967 to 1985). Once the Frontier Lift was retired, the cabins were relocated to the Sky Ride, which are still in operation today. Back on Sunday, July 26, 2009, aerialist Nik Wallenda was doing his "Walk Across America Tour," which included 10 of the Cedar Fair parks, and walked the Sky Ride cable above the Cedar Point midway.
